Wotclock (2002-2005), John Cayley

A visual and language-generative clock that spells the current time from twenty-four underlying hourly scenes in a circular human drama and according to an encoding system where words containing the letters e=1, t=2, a=3, n=4, i=5, o=6 and so on, around its face, do the spelling in the center of the clock with letters=numbers highlighted in red. John Cayley’s wotclock is based on the collaboration “What we will …” and features Douglas Cape’s brilliant digital photography.
